Tilux simplifies the installation
of floor-level showers

Montabaur - Today, floor-level, barrier-free showers are standard, if not legally required, in public and commercially used sanitary rooms of hotels, hospitals, sports centres, old people's homes etc. The trend to barrier-free showers is meanwhile being increasingly followed in private dwellings, for a floor-level shower layout with ceramic tiles is a very convincing design solution in comparison with conventional shower basins. At Bau 2007 (Hall A6 / Stand 108), the profile and matting specialist Dural from Montabaur presents its product innovation Dural Tilux, which considerably simplifies the installation and design of a barrier-free shower.

Ausgefeilte Technik und hochwertige Materialien
Dural Tilux is a base board of hard EPS foam with a waterproof sealing foil glued to its surface. The foil has a 7 cm-wide overlap to ensure quick, simple and secure wall sealing. The board already has a built-in gradient of 2%, ensuring ideal water run-off. The Tilux board is also extremely strong (density: 110 kg/m³). This means that the floor-level shower element can also support a wheelchair without additional reinforcement and, even with high point loading, small mosaics of 2 x 2 cm can be laid.

A further advantage of this innovation is the extremely low installation height, from as little as 10.5 cm. A waterproof drain flange is already cast in the hard EPS foam in the works, also contributing to quick installation. Thanks to special vortex technology, the product achieves a high drainage performance of over 0.9 litres per second. The Tilux grill support piece is height adjustable up to 22 mm and can be rotated 360° to fit the tile pattern.
This sophisticated technology and the high-quality materials used ensure the long, leakproof life of the shower element and permit quick and easy installation, saving both work and material costs.

The sizes available are 90x90, 100x100 and 120x120 cm for showers, and 50x50 cm especially for floor drains in wet rooms. The Montabaur-based company can produce special formats and sizes on request.
